Job summary

Qualifications

• CA chartered accountant certified by ICAP/ICAI/ICAEW or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Strong experience in international trade finance (LCs, import/export financing, bank guarantees)
• Proven track record securing bank credit facilities and managing multi‑entity treasury
• Extensive knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, and statutory reporting
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel tools
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with expansion plans and commercial objectives
• Oversee monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis
• Manage treasury, liquidity, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and funding requirements
• Lead trade finance activities including LC management, import/export financing, and foreign exchange exposure

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's commercial objectives and expansion plans.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and financial performance reporting.
• Treasury & Cash Flow Management: Manage liquidity, working capital, cash flow forecasting, banking facilities, and short- and long-term funding requirements.
• Trade Finance & Banking: Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, including letters of credit (LCs), trade finance facilities, guarantees, import/export financing, and foreign exchange exposure.
• Capital Expenditure & Equipment Financing: Identify, structure, negotiate, and secure financing and loan facilities for plant, machinery, industrial equipment, and business expansion projects.
• Financial Controls & Risk Management: Establish robust internal controls, approval processes, credit controls, and risk-management procedures to safeguard company assets and minimize financial exposure.
• Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, applicable accounting standards, statutory reporting, audit requirements, and other relevant regulatory obligations.
• Cost & Profitability Analysis: Monitor trading margins, operating expenses, overheads, and profitability by product, transaction, customer, supplier, and business unit.
• ERP & Process Improvement: Strengthen financial systems, reporting processes, and ERP utilization to improve accuracy, transparency, and decision-making.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance and accounts team, ensuring timely reporting, accountability, and operational efficiency.
• Commercial Decision Support: Work closely with management and commercial teams to evaluate new markets, trading opportunities, capital requirements, and business risks.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be based in Sharjah.
• Chartered Accountant (CA), qualified through ICAP (Pakistan), ICAI (India), ICAEW (UK), or another recognized chartered accountancy institute.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within a trading, manufacturing, or industrial organization.
• Strong, demonstrable experience in international trade finance, including LCs, import/export financing, bank guarantees, working capital facilities, foreign exchange, and cross-border settlements.
• Proven track record of establishing banking relationships and personally negotiating and securing credit facilities and financing from banks and financial institutions.
• Demonstrated experience in securing financing for plant, machinery, equipment, and capital expenditure, including situations where conventional property collateral is unavailable or limited.
• Experience managing treasury, funding, financial reporting, and financial controls across multiple companies within a group structure.
• Strong practical knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, VAT, tax planning, statutory compliance, external audits, and applicable financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in treasury management, cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and financial risk management.
• Experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis in a trading or multi-entity environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability, negotiation skills, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
