Job description

A sophisticated single-family office based in Dubai is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial and operational infrastructure, strengthen institutional processes, and serve as a strategic partner to the CEO. The family office oversees a diversified portfolio of investments, entities, and business interests in numerous international jurisdictions requiring a leader who combines strong financial acumen with a relationship driven approach to building trusted, long-term partnerships, operational discipline, and the ability to execute across multiple priorities.

This is a highly strategic, hands-on leadership opportunity with an initial focus on building and institutionalizing the family office’s operating infrastructure. The CFO will be responsible for developing a scalable operating model, strengthening internal processes, managing external resources, implementing systems and reporting capabilities, and establishing the organizational structure necessary to address the family’s evolving needs. Over time, the role will place greater emphasis on financial leadership, treasury and liquidity management, and strategic decision support.

The successful candidate will bring an institutional standard of excellence while maintaining the flexibility, responsiveness, and entrepreneurial mindset required in a private family office. This individual must be equally comfortable developing long-term financial strategies, evaluating complex transactions, navigating relationships with tax and regulatory authorities across multiple jurisdictions, and independently driving projects from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities
Family Office Operations & Infrastructure
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the family office, establishing clear accountability, effective workflows, and consistent execution across financial and administrative functions and across the family’s international footprint

  • Design and implement a scalable operating model across multiple jurisdictions, including organizational structure, roles and responsibilities, decision-making frameworks, and internal processes

  • Evaluating existing technology platforms, reporting tools, and information systems, leading enhancements and implementations that improve efficiency, integration, and visibility

  • Develop and institutionalize policies, procedures, documentation standards, and knowledge management practices to strengthen operational continuity and reduce reliance on individual team members

  • Oversee relationships with key service providers and external advisors across jurisdictions, ensuring clear expectations, appropriate coordination, accountability for deliverables, and overall value provided to the family

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, and leverage technology to enhance the office’s operating capabilities

  • Establish an operating environment that combines institutional-quality processes and controls with the agility and responsiveness expected of a sophisticated global family office

Strategic Projects & Execution
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning financial structuring, operational improvements, technology implementation, and organizational development

  • Translate strategic priorities established by the CEO into actionable workstreams, with clear deliverables, timelines, accountability, and reporting

  • Independently evaluate business challenges and opportunities, develop practical recommendations, and lead implementation through completion

  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and external advisors across financial, legal, tax, banking, and operational matters to drive timely and effective outcomes

  • Support transaction-related activities, including financial due diligence, liquidity assessment, financing arrangements, and coordination of execution requirements

  • Anticipate operational and financial challenges, proactively identifying solutions and ensuring leadership has visibility into key decisions, risks, and dependencies

Financial Leadership & Strategic Oversight
  • Lead the financial management of the family office, providing oversight of financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls across multiple entities and investments

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO, translating financial information into actionable insights and recommendations that support investment, operational, and capital allocation decisions

  • Own governance and oversight of regulatory compliance, entity substance requirements, and related obligations across multiple entities and jurisdictions through the Family Office’s Regulatory Board

  • Lead financial and operational oversight through the Family Office’s Operations Committee, including budgeting, cash management, financial reporting, tax, internal processes, technology, risk management, and human resources

  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting and develop a comprehensive view of the family’s assets, liabilities, liquidity, and financial commitments

  • Evaluate the existing financial infrastructure, reporting frameworks, and control environment, identifying opportunities to strengthen accuracy, transparency, and efficiency

  • Partner with internal finance professionals and external accounting, tax, and legal advisors to ensure coordinated financial oversight and execution

  • Establish financial planning and reporting processes that provide leadership with timely, reliable information to support decision-making

Treasury, Liquidity & Balance Sheet Optimization
  • Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, credit facilities, and financial obligations across the family office and affiliated entities

  • Develop and maintain consolidated and entity-level cash flow forecasts to support short- and long-term liquidity requirements

  • Monitor debt arrangements, financing terms, covenants, and other financial commitments to ensure compliance and appropriate risk management

  • Evaluate the family’s balance sheet and capital structure, identifying opportunities to optimize liquidity, financing flexibility, and the efficient deployment of capital

  • Assess existing legal and financial entity structures in coordination with external advisors, recommending opportunities for simplification, consolidation, and improved operational efficiency

  • Support the CEO in evaluating financing alternatives, structuring considerations, and capital requirements associated with investments and transactions

  • Ensure the financial infrastructure supports the family’s ability to evaluate opportunities, conduct due diligence, and execute transactions efficiently

Leadership, Governance & Risk Management
  • Lead, develop, and support the family office’s finance and operations personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, discretion, and continuous improvement

  • Evaluate organizational capabilities and resource requirements, identifying opportunities to strengthen the team through hiring, development, and external partnerships

  • Establish appropriate governance, internal controls, approval processes, and risk management practices across the organization and jurisdictions

  • Maintain oversight of relevant regulatory, compliance, and tax-related obligations across the family’s international footprint, coordinating with internal specialists and external advisors to address jurisdiction-specific requirements.

  • Ensure appropriate safeguards around confidential information, financial transactions, cybersecurity, and institutional records

  • Build trusted working relationships with the CEO, family stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners while maintaining the judgment and independence to provide constructive challenge

Qualifications
  • Accomplished senior finance, operations, or strategic leadership professional with 15+ years of progressive experience in sophisticated financial, investment, advisory, or privately held business environments

  • Demonstrated experience building or transforming organizational infrastructure, including operating models, systems, processes, reporting frameworks, and internal teams

  • Proven ability to serve as a strategic business partner to senior executives, combining analytical rigor with commercial judgment and a practical approach to decision-making

  • Strong foundation in corporate finance, financial reporting, treasury, liquidity management, capital structuring, and financial analysis, with the ability to oversee complex multi-entity financial arrangements

  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects and coordinating internal teams and external advisors to deliver measurable outcomes

  • Background in a single-family office, investment firm, financial institution, management consulting firm, or similarly sophisticated environment; exposure to private capital and complex ownership structures is highly valued

  • Strong academic credentials and a record of achievement within high-performing, institutional-quality organizations; experience at a leading global financial institution, consulting firm, or investment organization is highly preferred

  • Familiarity with corporate structuring, compliance, and tax considerations is beneficial, although deep technical specialization is not required

  • Experience operating within international or cross-border financial structures

  • Advanced degree and/or relevant professional qualifications such as an MBA, CPA, CFA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant designation, or equivalent are valued; international qualifications and experience across multiple jurisdictions are particularly relevant
