Dusit Ajman Resort & Villas is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee engineering, maintenance, and operations across the luxury property in Ajman. The role requires managing MEP systems, preventive maintenance programs, and utilities optimization to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

The candidate will lead a diverse engineering team, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with safety and local regulations while controlling the department budget and CAPEX plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in luxury 5-star hotels/resorts; leadership experience.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MEP and water treatment across the resort and villas.
• Design and implement a resort-wide preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime.
• Track and optimize power and water usage to reduce costs and support sustainability.
• Lead, schedule, and train a multi-skilled engineering team for prompt responses.
• Prepare and manage the department's annual operating budget and CAPEX plans.
• Select and supervise third-party contractors to meet hotel standards.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and safety protocols.

Job Description

Position: Chief Engineer
Location: Ajman

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering, maintenance, and physical operations within Dusit Ajman Resort & Villas. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal comfort for guests and staff by maintaining efficient, reliable, and energy‑effective operations across the entire property, including our luxury guest rooms, villas, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and water treatment systems across the resort and villas.
• Preventative Maintenance: Design and execute a strict, resort‑wide preventative maintenance (PM) program for guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house facilities to eliminate downtime.
• Energy & Sustainability: Track, analyze, and optimize power and water consumption to reduce utility costs and support environmental initiatives.
• Team Leadership: Lead, schedule, and train a multi‑skilled engineering and maintenance team to ensure prompt, high‑quality response times.
• Financial Management: Prepare and manage the department’s annual operating budget and capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans for major asset upgrades.
• Contractor Oversight: Select, negotiate with, and supervise specialized third‑party contractors and vendors to ensure all external work meets hotel standards.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with local government regulations, building codes, occupational health and safety laws, and emergency protocols (fire‑life‑safety).

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive engineering experience in luxury 5‑star hotels or resorts, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent technical certifications).
• Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of hotel‑wide MEP systems, civil maintenance, resort‑villa layouts, and hotel infrastructure.
• Core Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities, strong leadership presence, and fluency in English (both written and verbal).
• Software: The ideal candidate must be tech‑savvy and highly proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and property management systems.
