Job summary

Confidential Careers in the UAE seeks an experienced Head of Credit to lead credit, risk management, collections and governance functions. The role focuses on developing a robust credit strategy while enabling business growth.

The candidate will balance commercial objectives with risk controls, cash-flow optimization, and governance, reporting to Senior Management in a confidential senior position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related.
• Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CFA, CIMA, or equivalent would be an advantage.
• 10–15+ years of experience in Credit, Credit Risk, Collections, Accounts Receivable, or Financial Risk Management.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior credit management / leadership position.
• UAE or GCC experience preferred.
• Strong experience in credit assessment, credit policy, collections, and portfolio management.
• Proven experience managing significant customer credit exposure and high-value accounts.
• Strong financial analysis and commercial understanding.
• Experience working closely with Sales and Finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk principles, controls, and governance.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Excel and experience with ERP/financial systems and credit-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the credit strategy in line with objectives and risk appetite.
• Establish and maintain credit policies, approval frameworks, and authority limits.
• Assess creditworthiness of customers and set credit limits and payment terms.
• Review customer financials, credit reports, and risk indicators.
• Identify and mitigate credit risks across the portfolio.
• Lead the credit approval process and maintain proper documentation.
• Maintain segregation of duties and internal controls across credit.
• Oversee accounts receivable and collections activities.
• Drive timely collections and improve cash conversion.
• Monitor ageing, exposure, and collection performance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Operations and Senior Management.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs for the credit function.
• Provide leadership to the Credit & Collections team.
• Ensure UAE regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
