Job summary

Dr scent in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a senior accountant to lead financial reporting, analysis and compliance across multiple branches in Sharjah.

You will supervise accounting staff, maintain the general ledger, manage AP/AR, payroll and cash flow, ensure VAT and internal controls, and collaborate with other departments to drive efficiency.

A Bachelor's in accounting with 5+ years in a senior role is required; ERP proficiency and advanced Excel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.

• Proficient in VAT, internal controls, and GAAP/compliance.
• Experience with accounting software / ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong Word knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports; analyse data for discrepancies and trends.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, subsidiary accounts, and monthly reconciliations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits; ensure GAAP and VAT compliance.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff; delegate responsibilities.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash flow, and day-to-day operations.
• Recommend improvements to reduce costs and enhance internal processes.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports; analyse financial data for discrepancies and trends to inform management decisions.
• General Ledger and Account Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, subsidiary accounts, and monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
• Audit and Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare documentation for auditors, and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cost analysis to support strategic planning.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, delegate responsibilities, and provide guidance on accounting procedures.
• Operational Support: Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, cash flow, and other day-to-day accounting operations.
