  • Confirm the amount received and return the correct change for cash transactions.
  • Maintain the assigned house bank at its approved value throughout the shift.
  • Report and settle cash shortages according to the hotel 's financial control procedures.
  • Place shift cash sales in a properly completed remittance envelope.
  • Record cash drops on the Daily Cash Drop Sheet in the presence of Security.
  • Obtain the required witness verification and signature for every deposited envelope.
  • Secure cash remittances in the designated drop safe at the end of the shift.
  • For credit card settlements, verify the cardholder signature, expiry date, transaction value, and applicable card status requirements. The payment total must match the guest check together with any authorized gratuity.
  • When a guest charges an outlet bill to a room, compare the name on the check with the name displayed in the hotel system. Request additional identification whenever the information cannot be verified confidently.
  • Explain politely that personal and company cheques are not accepted in hotel dining outlets.
