Job summary

DSV Dubai-based project chartering role focused on expanding our footprint in the project chartering market within the Global Ocean Chartering Desk, a part of the DPIS product unit. Based in Dubai, you will work with Project Logistics and Chartering specialists to handle regional requests and bookings, collaborating with local and global DSV offices.

The role includes visiting project offices and building a strong carrier network in the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, and Africa.

Qualifications

• Several years of chartering experience.
• Established network within the chartering industry.
• Experience booking project cargoes on multipurpose vessels.
• Experience with BIMCO contracts such as CONLINE BOOKING NOTE, GENCON, NYPE and BALTIME and the usual terms and conditions related to these contracts and the multipurpose market.
• Great communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Visiting the different project offices; travel within Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa
• Form close working relationships with offices to provide best‑in‑class service; participate in customer meetings; build and develop a strong network with carriers
• Highly independent role with support from the team and global network

• Based in Dubai you will be instrumental in expanding our footprint in the project chartering market within the Global Ocean Chartering Desk, part of the DSV Global Projects & Industry Solutions (DPIS) product unit.
• Let us welcome you into a global team we are based in Denmark (HQ), the Netherlands, Dubai, Singapore, China and the US, we are a dozen colleagues, in the Global Ocean Chartering Desk. Together, we assist relevant DSV branches around the world with their break bulk/project cargoes and heavy lift loads. A tight-knit team, we meet online every day to make sure we assist each other with the different tasks and succeed as one.
• Being a smaller team of chartering specialists, we have a strong sense of community and ownership within the team

Reporting Line:

Report to: Director, Head of Global Ocean Chartering Desk

Responsibilities:

• Based in Dubai, you will together with your colleagues – Project Logistics as well as Chartering specialists – handle the requests and bookings for the offices in the region working closely with the local DSV offices, but also worldwide
• While this can be done from your desk, part of your job will also be to visit the different project offices. This might take you travelling primarily within Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa.
• An important part of your work will be to form close working relationships with the different offices, enabling you to provide them with best‑in‑class service. This may also mean participating in customer meetings to support the business. Furthermore, you will build, maintain and further develop a strong network with the various carriers as you will be the main contact for your colleagues to the carrier market.
• This is a highly independent role with plenty of opportunity to make your mark. However, your team is always there for you, both the colleagues you share an office with as well as the rest of the global team online.
