Job summary

MIDAS, a strategic JV between MTN Group Fintech and Alipay, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the joint venture’s finance function, including planning, governance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

The CFO will design the economic model, manage funding and intercompany charges, and defend financial positions with shareholders and authorities while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 year tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA required.
• Minimum 12 to 15 years finance experience, including at least 5 years at senior finance leadership level.
• Experience as a Chief Financial Officer, Finance Director or equivalent in a joint venture, subsidiary or entity with external shareholders.
• Experience of cross border structures, transfer pricing and intercompany charging models.
• Experience in fintech, payments, banking or telecommunications preferred.
• Experience of shareholder reporting, capital calls, audit and statutory obligations in more than one jurisdiction.
• Experience of establishing a finance function and control environment in a new or rapidly scaling entity.
• Experience of negotiating commercial terms with internal customers or affiliates.
• Experience of implementing finance systems and a chart of accounts in a new entity.
• Experience of business partnering technical and engineering functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial leadership, economics and fiscal integrity of the JV across planning, platform economics, funding, tax and reporting.
• Own shareholder interface with MTN and Alipay, including funding and commercial terms negotiations.
• Own the charging model for operating companies and ensure transparency and arm's length handling.
• Ensure Dubai establishment substance, transfer pricing documentation and statutory obligations.
