Job summary

Accor is seeking an experienced Carpenter to maintain and repair wooden structures across the property in Ajman. You will build, install and finish furniture, doors and fixtures to the highest standards, while collaborating with Engineering teams.

The role requires strong craftsmanship with attention to detail, plus the ability to follow SOPs and safety policies in a luxury hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of carpentry experience in luxury hotel or hospitality settings.
• Ability to read basic drawings and take precise measurements.
• Familiarity with safety standards and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective carpentry maintenance in guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house.
• Repair, fabricate and install wooden furniture, doors, cabinets, wardrobes and fixtures.
• Polish, finish and touch-up works to meet aesthetics standards.
• Inspect carpentry works and report defects or safety concerns to Engineering Supervisor.
• Follow Fairmont SOPs and maintenance schedules; comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Use tools and machinery safely; coordinate with other Engineering trades to support hotel operations.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Job description

As a Carpenter you will be responsible for building maintaining and repairing various wooden structures and fixtures throughout our property. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

• Perform preventive and corrective carpentry maintenance in guest rooms public areas and heart-of-the-house
• Repair fabricate and install wooden furniture doors cabinets wardrobes shelving and fixtures
• Carry out polishing finishing and touch-up works to maintain the hotels aesthetic standards
• Inspect carpentry works and report defects or safety concerns to the Engineering Supervisor
• Follow Fairmont brand standards SOPs and maintenance schedules
• Ensure all work complies with health safety and environmental policies
• Use tools machinery and materials safely and responsibly
• Coordinate with other Engineering trades to support hotel operations
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Carpenter preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques
• Ability to read basic drawings and take accurate measurements
• Familiarity with safety standards and use of PPE
• High attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
• Team-oriented with a positive and flexible attitude
