Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Camp Officer to manage the day-to-day operations of workers' accommodation in Abu Dhabi, ensuring a safe, clean and organized living environment for all employees. The officer acts as the main contact for accommodation matters and coordinates with management to resolve labor, welfare, safety, and camp-related issues efficiently.

Responsibilities include supervising workers, maintaining hygiene, inspecting facilities, coordinating with maintenance, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Fluent Arabic communication is required.
• Experience managing worker accommodations and large groups.
• Knowledge of camp housekeeping, hygiene, safety, and general standards.
• Ability to handle workers’ complaints professionally.
• Knowledge of health, safety and Civil Defence requirements.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Camp Officer to manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s worker accommodation and ensure a safe, clean, organized, and comfortable living environment for all employees.

The Camp Officer will act as the main point of contact for workers regarding accommodation-related matters and will coordinate with management to resolve labor, welfare, safety, and camp-related issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the workers’ accommodation/camp.
• Supervise workers and ensure compliance with company rules, camp regulations, and management instructions.
• Listen to and resolve workers’ problems, complaints, and labor-related concerns, escalating serious issues to management when required.
• Maintain good communication between workers, supervisors, and company management.
• Monitor camp cleanliness, hygiene, and general housekeeping standards.
• Regularly inspect rooms, common areas, kitchens, toilets, dining areas, and other camp facilities.
• Coordinate maintenance and report any accommodation or facility issues for timely resolution.
• Monitor workers’ discipline, attendance-related concerns, and general conduct within the accommodation.
• Ensure that health, safety, and welfare requirements are followed within the camp.
• Conduct regular checks of fire safety equipment, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, alarms, and other safety arrangements.
• Ensure the accommodation remains compliant with applicable Civil Defence and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance, security, cleaning, and other service providers when necessary.
• Maintain proper records of workers accommodated at the camp, room allocations, complaints, maintenance issues, inspections, and other camp-related matters.
• Support management during Civil Defence, safety, accommodation, or other official inspections.
• Take immediate action and inform management in case of emergencies, accidents, safety hazards, or serious worker-related incidents.
• Promote a respectful, safe, and orderly environment among all workers.
• Perform other camp administration and operational duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Camp Officer, Camp Supervisor, Accommodation Supervisor, Labor Camp Supervisor, or similar role is preferred.
• Experience managing worker accommodations and large groups of employees.
• Good knowledge of camp housekeeping, hygiene, safety, and general accommodation standards.
• Ability to handle and resolve workers’ complaints and day-to-day problems professionally.
• Good understanding of occupational health and safety and Civil Defence requirements.
• Fluent Arabic communication skills are required.
• English communication skills will be an advantage.
• Good communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
• UAE experience is preferred.
