Key Responsibilities

  • Introduce appropriate programming languages and development environments according to curriculum requirements.

  • Prepare students for GCSE, A-Level, or other relevant Computer Science examinations where applicable.
  • Apply evidence-informed teaching methods that improve knowledge retention and technical fluency.
  • Provide worked examples, modelling, retrieval practice, and structured independent tasks.
  • Differentiate technical content to support students with varying levels of prior programming experience.
  • Assess coding, theory, computational thinking, and problem-solving using formative and summative methods.

Ideal Profile
  • B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification in Computer Science or a closely related subject.
  • Minimum two years of experience teaching the National Curriculum of England.
  • Previous experience teaching within a British curriculum school.
  • Excellent knowledge of Computer Science theory and practical programming.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, computational thinking, data structures, computer systems, and networks.
  • Confidence teaching coding and debugging in an educational environment.
  • Proven record of delivering high-quality teaching and positive student outcomes.
  • Experience working successfully within a high-performing teaching team.
  • Ability to prepare students effectively for external examinations.
  • Strong classroom management and assessment skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and progressively.
