Job summary

KONE UAE is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Modernization business based in Dubai. You will identify new opportunities, manage complex growth projects, and support strategic segments including Infra and PPP to drive modernization across the UAE.

In this role you will build and leverage a network with developers, building owners, FM companies, consultants, and government entities to shape opportunities and ensure alignment with safety codes and UAE regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, economics, finance or engineering).
• Knowledge of modernization scopes and UAE safety codes (EN 81-80) and UAE authority requirements.
• Established network with UAE developers, building owners, FM companies and government entities.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Proven track record of success in business performance and development.

Responsibilities

• Finds new business opportunities and positions KONE competitively.
• Manages complex business development projects including Infra and PPP.
• Ensures cross-BL implementation of growth opportunities (APF/People Flow).
• Drives turnaround of low business performance in a part of the business.

KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa (KMTA) is embarking on an exciting growth phase, expanding its direct presence. To support our growth plans, we are looking for a Business Development Managerfor our Modernization Business to be based in our Dubai office.

The Business Development Manager, Modernization finds new business opportunities, manages complex business development projects, and supports business segments requiring special focus within KONE’s modernization business in the UAE.

The role turns the UAE’s ageing base of elevators and escalators—KONE and other brands—into modernization growth and supports focus segments such as infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP) projects.

Maintains a strong network within and outside of KONE, including developers, building owners, FM companies, consultants, and government entities, to share best practices and understand current and future requirements.

Responsibilities and key activities:

• Finds new business opportunities to position KONE competitively in the market and according to the short- and long-term business goals
• Manages complex business development projects and supports business segments requiring special focus, for example, the Infra segment and PPP projects, to grow KONE business in that segment
• Ensures cross-BL or organization-wide implementation of growth opportunities, e.g., Advanced People Flow (APF) solutions or People Flow planning and consulting
• Drives a turnaround of low business performance in a specific part of business
• Manages complex, large, and difficult analysis, development, or implementation projects
• Maintains a strong network within and outside of KONE to share best practices and to understand current and future requirements.
• Leverages external companies to shape KONE business and operations.

Professional requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., business, economics, finance, engineering.
• Knowledge of modernization scopes and elevator safety codes (e.g., EN 81-80) and UAE authority requirements.
• Established network with UAE developers, building owners, FM companies and government entities.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Proven track record of consistent success in business performance and development.
• Understanding of costs, business principles, and risk management
• Knowledge, skills, and experience in qualifying, structuring, and negotiating with business partners
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with different kinds of stakeholders and to develop relationships in a complex team environment.
