Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Specialist Material Engineer to join the infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will review construction materials, assess compliance with project specifications, and ensure materials meet quality requirements and standards.

Responsibilities include evaluating concrete, reinforcement steel, asphalt, aggregates, and precast materials, coordinating with design and QA/QC teams, and providing technical recommendations on material approvals and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Civil Engineering or related field.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, specifications, and standards.
Experience reviewing concrete, reinforcement steel, asphalt, aggregates and precast materials.

Responsibilities

Review material submittals, data sheets, certificates and lab test reports.
Assess material compliance with project specifications and standards.
Evaluate materials for infrastructure and bridge works (concrete, steel, asphalt, aggregates, pipes, waterproofing).
Review alternative materials and substitutions for technical suitability.
Coordinate with design, QA/QC, site teams and laboratories to resolve issues.
Maintain records of material reviews, tests and technical assessments.
