Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Dubai seeks an experienced BIM Manager to lead BIM strategy, standards, and model development across design, construction and handover. You will drive federated models for Civil, Structural, MEP, Rail systems, and utilities, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

You will manage BIM coordinators, integrate site survey data, perform clash detection, and deliver as-built models derived from validated BIM data within a robust CDE environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or relevant discipline.
• 10–15 years of BIM management experience on large infrastructure/rail projects.
• Experience with UAE/Dubai projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Establish BIM standards, workflows, and protocols per ISO 19650 and Dubai requirements.
• Oversee federated BIM models across disciplines and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate BIM across design, construction and handover phases.
• Manage Point Layout BIM models to support site activities.
• Integrate BIM with site survey data and geospatial information.
• Coordinate infrastructure and utility BIM, including clash detection.
• Lead BIM coordinators and modelers; run coordination meetings.
• Ensure record drawings originate from validated BIM data.
• Maintain BIM data in a Common Data Environment with version control.

Job Purpose

The BIM Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes and models across the project lifecycle. The role ensures effective digital integration of site survey, setting out, infrastructure, and utility works, supporting accurate construction execution and the generation of as-built (record) models and drawing

Key Roles and Responsibility

• BIM Strategy & Implementation
• Develop and implement the Project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) in alignment with project and client requirements.
• Establish BIM standards, workflows, and protocols in compliance with ISO 19650 and Dubai Municipality / RTA BIM requirements
• Ensure BIM integration across design, construction, and handover phases.
• BIM Model Development
• Oversee the development and maintenance of federated BIM models across all disciplines.
• Ensure delivery of accurate and coordinated models for Civil, Structural, MEP, Rail systems and utilities.
• Manage the preparation of Point Layout BIM Models to support site activities.
• Site Survey & Setting Out Integration
• Integrate BIM with site survey data (e.g., point clouds, GIS data).
• Utilize BIM for site verification and digital terrain modelling
• Support setting out activities using BIM-driven coordinates and layouts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Infrastructure & Utility Coordination
• Manage BIM coordination for Infrastructure works, Utility diversions and installations
• Perform clash detection and resolution using BIM tools.
• Ensure coordination between design disciplines to avoid construction conflicts.
• Construction & As-Built Management
• Ensure BIM is effectively used for Construction sequencing (4D) and Quantity take-offs (5D, where applicable)
• Oversee conversion of construction data into accurate as-built (record) BIM models.
• Ensure all record drawings are generated directly from validated BIM data.
• Data Management & Documentation
• Manage BIM data within a Common Data Environment (CDE) (e.g., Aconex, BIM 360).
• Ensure proper version control, model validation, and audit trails.
• Maintain BIM documentation including Model submission logs, Coordination reports and Clash reports
• Team Leadership & Coordination
• Lead and manage BIM coordinators and modelers.
• Coordinate with Design teams, Construction teams, Survey teams and Subcontractors
• Conduct BIM coordination meetings and workshop
• Support audits and regulatory reviews related to BIM.
• Quality & Compliance
• Ensure BIM models comply with Project standards and specifications, Client requirements and Dubai regulatory frameworks
• Perform model audits and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Training & Digital Enablement
• Provide training and guidance on BIM tools and workflows.
• Promote digital construction practices across the project team.
• Support adoption of advanced BIM applications (e.g., digital twins).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or relevant discipline
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in BIM management for large infrastructure/rail projects
• Experience in UAE/Dubai projects is highly preferred

Technical Skills

• Expertise in BIM standards like ISO 19650 and BS/PAS BIM standards
• Proficiency in tools such as Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Bentley (OpenRail, MicroStation), BIM 360 / ACC, Aconex (CDE platforms)
• Experience in 3D, 4D, 5D BIM applications, Point cloud processing and laser scanning integration, Clash detection and coordination
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure and utility modelling, Survey data integration and geospatial coordination
