Job summary

TRACTEBEL is seeking an experienced BESS Expert in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with 5-8 years in power and renewable energy projects. You will lead technical development for utility-scale BESS, perform sizing and optimization, review architecture and interconnections, and support procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.

The role requires a strong grasp of grid codes, substation interfaces, and feasibility studies, guiding projects from feasibility through operation with focus on risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years in BESS, power systems, renewables or energy storage; at least 3 years in BESS projects; GCC experience preferred.
• Experience in BESS sizing, design review, feasibility studies, and construction support.
• Good understanding of grid codes, grid connection requirements, and power system studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical development of utility-scale and commercial BESS projects.
• Perform BESS sizing and optimization studies based on load profiles, renewable generation, and grid requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments.
• Review BESS architecture, PCS, EMS, SCADA, and auxiliary systems.
• Support grid integration and interconnection studies.
• Review HV, MV, and LV electrical systems and substation designs.
• Review EPC and OEM engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Support FAT, SAT, and performance testing activities.
• Identify technical risks and mitigate accordingly.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced BESS Expert with 5-8 years of experience in power and renewable energy projects. The candidate should possess strong expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), electrical engineering, grid integration, substations, and power system studies. The role includes supporting projects from feasibility stage through engineering, design review, construction, commissioning, and operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical development of utility-scale and commercial BESS projects.
• Perform BESS sizing and optimization studies based on load profiles, renewable generation, and grid requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments.
• Review BESS system architecture, PCS, EMS, SCADA, and auxiliary systems.
• Support grid integration and interconnection studies.
• Review and capable of design of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
• Review substation designs including transformers, switchgear, protection and control systems.
• Review EPC and OEM engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Support FAT, SAT, and performance testing activities.
• Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in BESS, power systems, renewable energy, or energy storage projects. Must have minimum 03 years of BESS proejcts experince with preffered GCC experience.
• Demonstrated experience in BESS sizing, design review, feasibility studies, and construction support.
• Good understanding of grid codes, grid connection requirements, and power system studies.
