Job summary

The American University of Sharjah is seeking a Labs Supervisor to oversee the Behavioral Research Lab and SBA computer laboratories. You will coordinate experiments, manage infrastructure, and ensure compliant data handling, privacy, and security across research activities.

You will liaise with faculty, IT Services, Procurement, Facilities, and external vendors to keep systems running, renew software licenses, and support teaching and research with data management and analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with research or lab focus.
• Minimum three years of lab management or research technology support.
• Experience supporting academic research environments.
• Experience with software licenses and procurement.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Behavioral Research Lab and SBA labs.
• Coordinate experiments, data collection, and research projects.
• Maintain lab computers, servers, networks, and software with IT.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot research software and databases.
• Administer platforms like oTree, z-Tree, Qualtrics, MTurk, Prolific.
• Develop participant recruitment systems compliant with privacy and ethics.
• Provide technical support for research projects and data collection.
• Assist with data extraction, cleaning, and preliminary analysis.
• Monitor lab usage and prepare reports on licenses, inventory, and performance.
• Coordinate software licensing and renewals with vendors.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for lab operations.
• Train faculty and students on lab systems and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with policies, security, and health & safety.
