Job summary

Holiday Inn Dubai Science Park, part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, is seeking a service‑oriented Bartender to join our team. You will prepare beverages, monitor alcohol service, and maintain bar operations while providing exceptional guest service.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of bartender experience, knowledge of cocktails, and strong English communication. A hospitality or bartending certificate is a plus; shifts include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Bartender in a hotel, restaurant, bar, or lounge.
• Good knowledge of cocktail preparation, beverage service standards, and responsible alcohol service.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or bartending certification is an advantage.
• Good English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and guest-focused approach.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and inventory control.
• Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages requested by guests using established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product to the guests and to control costs.
• Monitor guest behaviour and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease; notify management of incidents.
• Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times and report incidents to supervisor or manager on duty.
• Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.
• Set up bar including liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies; perform pre- and post-shift work.
• Requisition supplies and manage liquor inventory; secure liquor before, during, and after shift.
• Handle cash and payments, balance cash drawer at end of shift according to hotel procedures.
• Check bar areas for cleanliness; inspect equipment; maintain hygiene and safety standards.
• Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments to ensure quality service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
