Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking a Bartender to join our luxury team. Based in Dubai, you will craft cocktails and support servers under managerial guidance, delivering outstanding beverage experiences.

You will mix ingredients to create drinks, maintain inventory, and uphold service standards. The role requires strong English communication, flexibility for shifts, and experience in high-end settings.

Competenze

• High School qualification or equivalent; Hospitality degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience as Bartender in a high-end bar with top service levels, and a minimum of 2 years in a luxury hotel/resort.
• Strong English communication; other languages preferred.
• Knowledge of bar service procedures and standards; good knowledge of spirits and cigars.
• Able to stand for long periods and work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Explain the outlet concept and drink offerings to guests, including drink characteristics.
• Mix and garnish cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, spirits, beers and wines per standards.
• Handle customer complaints effectively and report to managers.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Restaurants, Bars & Experiences section of our Italian Restaurant in Dubai, the Bartender will offer and prepare an outstanding selection of creative beverages. They will support the servers in any other required duties and tasks under the guidance of the respective managers and supervisors. Bartender reports to the Restaurant Manager.

As a Bartender, you will beresponsiblefor the following duties:

• Understand and verbally explain the outlet’s concept and food and beverage offerings to guests, including the characteristics of various drinks.
• Mix and match ingredients to create outstanding cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, spirits, beers, and wines, garnishing them as per standards.
• Handle customer complaints effectively, both verbal and written, and report them to managers without fail.
• Set up the daily bar counter, ensuring all necessary ingredients and equipment are prepared, and check inventory to avoid running out of stock during service periods.
• Clean and sanitise the bar areas after each shift, conduct periodic deep cleaning, and ensure correct date labelling for all products.
• Assist in creating new mixed drinks and cocktails for promotional activities and new menus and operate the point of sales system to process orders.

As a Bartender, weexpectfrom you:

• Hold a High School qualification or equivalent, with a Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management preferred.
• Have 3 years' experience as a Bartender in a high-end bar with the highest service levels, and a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a bartender in a luxury hotel/resort.
• Possess basic computer skills, including MS Office, and have strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic or other languages preferred).
• Demonstrate knowledge of bar service procedures and standards, and good knowledge of spirits and cigars.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues, as well as exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Have physical capabilities to stand for long periods and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs.
