Job summary

Novotel & ibis Balikpapan is seeking a bar/restaurant associate to ensure opening and closing duties, set up the bar, and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced hotel environment.

You will greet guests, take orders, and serve beverages while maintaining menu knowledge, allergens, and safety standards. The role involves upselling, handling complaints, and collaborating with outlets to maximize sales. Training and adherence to brand standards are required.

Responsibilities

• Open and close duties and set up bar area and tables according to standards.
• Deliver exceptional food and beverage service adhering to departmental standards and LQA service standards.
• Greet patrons warmly, take orders and serve food and beverages promptly and at the correct temperature.
• Maintain knowledge of all menu items including ingredients, preparation methods and allergens.
• Upsell and promote food and beverage offers to maximize sales revenue and cross-sell other dining venues.
• Handle guest complaints and comments tactfully, reporting issues to management promptly.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance, hygiene and adhere to HACCP food safety standards.
• Supervise assigned work stations and assist in overseeing outlet operations in the absence of management.
• Collaborate with other Food & Beverage outlets during peak times or when required.
• Attend briefings, meetings and training sessions as assigned by management, staying updated on hotel services and safety procedures
