Job summary

Worley is seeking a Barge / Logistics Coordinator to manage offshore logistics, barge and vessel movements, and personnel transfers in Abu Dhabi. The role requires extensive experience in offshore oil & gas logistics, strong coordination with marine teams, and adherence to HSE procedures.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience, including GCC exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Communications or related field with 10+ years (8 years for UAE Nationals) of offshore oil & gas and logistics experience.
• Significant logistics experience with Offshore Construction Contractors / Offshore operators; knowledge in supply chain management and marine transportation; 3+ years (preferred) in GCC region.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day offshore logistics activities involving accommodation/work barges, supply vessels, crew boats, tugs, and other marine vessels.
• Plan and coordinate barge and vessel movements, mobilization and demobilization, and offshore transportation activities.
• Coordinate transportation of personnel, project materials, equipment, tools, and supplies to/from offshore locations.
• Maintain vessel and barge movement schedules in coordination with offshore teams.
• Monitor personnel movement, POB, crew changes, accommodation availability, and offshore transfer requirements.
• Ensure proper documentation, labeling and preparation for marine transport.

Job Purpose:
The Barge / Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring offshore marine and logistics activities to ensure safe and efficient movement of personnel, materials, equipment, and supplies between shore bases, barges, vessels, and offshore facilities. The role coordinates barge movements, vessel schedules, material transfers, personnel movements, and offshore logistics requirements in accordance with project plans, marine procedures, HSE requirements, and client standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate day-to-day offshore logistics activities involving accommodation/work barges, supply vessels, crew boats, tugs, and other marine vessels.
• Plan and coordinate barge and vessel movements, mobilization, demobilization, and offshore transportation activities.
• Coordinate transportation of personnel, project materials, equipment, tools, consumables, and other supplies to/from offshore locations.
• Prepare and maintain daily/weekly vessel and barge movement schedules in coordination with offshore construction and marine teams.
• Coordinate with Offshore Construction Managers, Marine Coordinators, Logistics teams, vessel masters, contractors, shore bases, and client representatives.
• Monitor personnel movement, POB (Personnel on Board), crew changes, accommodation availability, and offshore transfer requirements.
• Coordinate loading/unloading, back-loading, material manifests, cargo documentation, and movement of equipment between shore and offshore locations.
• Ensure offshore cargo is properly documented, packed, certified, labelled, and prepared for marine transportation.
• Coordinate marine spread requirements including barges, supply vessels, tugs, crew boats, and support vessels.
• Monitor vessel/barge availability and identify potential logistics conflicts or delays affecting offshore construction activities.
• Coordinate offshore material priorities based on construction, installation, commissioning, and maintenance requirements.
• Maintain records of vessel movements, cargo movements, personnel transfers, marine activities, and logistics status.
• Support preparation of daily logistics reports, vessel utilization reports, look-ahead schedules, and offshore progress reports.
• Coordinate with HSE teams to ensure marine transportation, personnel transfer, lifting, loading/unloading, and offshore logistics activities comply with approved procedures.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC/client requirements, marine regulations, project HSE procedures, and applicable offshore operating standards.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings and communicate logistics constraints, vessel availability, weather restrictions, and operational priorities.
• Support emergency logistics requirements and changes to offshore schedules as required by project operations.

Qualification & Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications or related field from an accredited university/ Maritime Academy or equivalent with minimum ten (10+) years (8 years for UAE Nationals) of relevant experience in the offshore oil & gas and logistics fields.

Significant logistics experience with Offshore Construction Contractors / Offshore operators, with strong knowledge in supply chain management, good knowledge with marine transportation. Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position for major oil & gas/ marine construction projects including minimum three (3) years (preferred) in GCC region. Responsible and Accountable for assurance of the large inventory work scope.
