Job summary

Worley is seeking a Lead Planning & Cost Control Engineer for offshore projects in Abu Dhabi. The role requires deep expertise in project controls, scheduling, and cost management to support major Oil & Gas initiatives.

You will lead a team of engineers, generate regular progress reports, ensure governance and contract compliance, and drive continuous improvement of control processes across programs. Advanced communication with senior management, ADNOC exposure preferred, 15+ years experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 15+ years in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar senior role on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deliverables are produced and flagged to the PCM.
• Generate weekly/monthly reports with progress, actuals, forecast and variance explanations.
• Apply project controls processes consistently across the project.
• Governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance across multi-party programs.
• Advise on Project Controls policies, procedures and standards for delivery.
• Collaborate with Senior PM and discipline Managers to maximize project potential.
• Review and guide Project Baseline Schedule to align with contract requirements.
• Oversee reviews of the schedule and generation of reports highlighting slippage and forecasts.
• Manage Progress Certification and Invoice Payment processes under contract.
• Maintain certificates for Milestones and Completion Activities.
• Develop and improve project control procedures, systems and tools.
• Advocate project controls principles for better operations.
• Contribute to culture enrichment through internal and external communications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deliverables are delivered and that these are flagged to the PCM.
• Generate weekly / monthly reports in line with the project and company reporting calendar, provide details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.
• Ensure that project controls processes are consistently applied across the project.
• Manage governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance for the agreed Scope of Work across integrated programs managed across multiple parties.
• Support and advise on the definition of Project Controls and Management policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver projects.
• Work closely with the Senior Project Manager and other discipline Managers to maximize the potential of the project.
• Manage and guide the review of Project Baseline Schedule to ensure compliance with the Contract Schedule requirements and the overall Project schedule.
• Instruct various reviews/analyses of the Project Schedule and the generation of special reports highlighting areas of slippage, concerns and forecasts.
• Manage and guide the process of Progress Certification and Invoice Payment under the Contract.
• Ensure appropriate certificates are generated and maintained for the Project denoting approval of various Milestones and Completion Activities.
• Develop and improve the project control procedures, systems and tools. Continuously work with the Project Management Teams to seek improvement opportunities and incorporate them in the standard ways of Project Controls.
• Be an active advocate of the project controls principles for better management of project operations.
• Contribute to culture enrichment through internal and external communications.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university, with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.
• ADNOC & Offshore project experience is preferred.
• 15+ years of project experience, working in the oil & gas industry with previous knowledge of preparing and implementing project plans, schedules and cost control.
• Project control (Planning, scheduling, monitoring and cost control) skills.
• Full understanding of schedule, cost and risk analysis tools and techniques.
• Technical understanding and proficient knowledge related to Oil & Gas business.
• Planning and implementation skills. Detailed knowledge of principles, policies, procedures, and internal processes pertaining to project control.
