Job summary

Worley in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Supervisor (Material) to lead day-to-day material management across warehouses, yards, and offshore sites, ensuring timely receipt, inspection, storage and issue of project materials in line with ADNOC requirements.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering with 10+ years in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical, at least 5 years in GCC, FEED/EPC/PMC exposure, and proven ability to coordinate QA/QC, procurement and logistics to support construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure materials are properly identified, stored and preserved per ADNOC requirements.
  • Maintain material records and update the Material Management System and inventories.
  • Monitor shortages, deliveries and status, providing regular reports to stakeholders.

Job Purpose

The Supervisor (Material) is responsible for supervising and coordinating all project material activities, including material receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, issuance, tracking, reconciliation, and inventory control. The role ensures that materials required for construction, fabrication, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and offshore activities are available on time and managed in accordance with ADNOC requirements, project procedures, HSE standards, and approved material control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day material management activities at project warehouses, laydown areas, fabrication yards, construction sites, and offshore locations, as applicable.
  • Coordinate the receipt, unloading, verification, inspection, storage, preservation, and issuance of project materials and equipment.
  • Verify received materials against Purchase Orders, packing lists, Material Receiving Reports (MRR), delivery notes, and other relevant documentation.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC, procurement, engineering, construction, logistics, vendors, and contractors for material inspection and acceptance.
  • Ensure materials are properly identified, tagged, stored, segregated, and preserved in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and ADNOC requirements.
  • Monitor material availability against construction priorities, work fronts, and project schedules and highlight shortages or potential constraints.
  • Maintain accurate material records and ensure timely updating of the project's Material Management System and inventory records.
  • Monitor material status from receipt through final issuance and provide regular reports on availability, shortages, damaged materials, surplus materials, and outstanding deliveries.
  • Supervise warehouse and material-handling personnel and ensure safe and efficient execution of material activities.
  • Ensure appropriate storage arrangements for piping materials, valves, structural materials, electrical and instrumentation items, mechanical equipment, chemicals, and other project materials.
  • Ensure proper handling and preservation of sensitive, critical, high-value, and long-lead equipment.
  • Coordinate Material Issue Requests (MIR), Material Transfer Notes, return-to-store documentation, and other material movement records.
  • Monitor free-issued materials and contractor-supplied materials and maintain complete traceability.
  • Coordinate material movements between warehouses, fabrication yards, construction sites, marine bases, and offshore facilities.
  • Support logistics planning for transportation and delivery of materials based on construction and offshore requirements.
  • Ensure lifting, loading, unloading, stacking, and material handling activities comply with approved HSE procedures.
  • Identify shortages, discrepancies, damages, or incorrect deliveries and coordinate resolution through appropriate procurement, logistics, vendor, and QA/QC channels.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory checks and support stock reconciliation and material audits.
  • Monitor surplus materials and coordinate return, transfer, preservation, or disposal in accordance with project procedures.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safe access within warehouses and material storage areas.
  • Support construction and commissioning teams by ensuring timely availability and issuance of required materials.
  • Prepare and maintain material status reports, shortage reports, inventory reports, preservation records, and material reconciliation reports.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide updates on material readiness, constraints, and critical requirements.
  • Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with project material control procedures and ADNOC requirements.
  • Support project closeout by coordinating final material reconciliation, surplus material handover, and completion of material documentation.
  • Diploma in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institute with a minimum of Ten (10+) years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in GCC region.
  • Specific experience or qualification or training or technical certificate shall be provided if required and as applicable.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • Experience within FEED & EPC experience required.
  • Experience in PMC roles.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Offshore projects is required.
  • ADNOC projects experience is required.
