Job summary

Client of Salt is seeking a data engineer to develop data marts, build data products from banking datasets and design customer 360 views for analytics, ML and AI use cases. The role involves migrating from a Microsoft database environment to Amazon Redshift and requires strong data modelling capabilities.

The project is a 1-year contract based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with the potential to extend. Banking domain experience and hands-on SQL development are essential, with Python familiarity encouraged

Qualifications

• Hands-on SQL development with complex queries and stored procedures.
• Experience in data mart development, warehousing, and data modelling.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar databases.
• Amazon Redshift knowledge is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Claude is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop data marts and scheduled data transformation workflows.
• Design data models and customer 360 views for analytics, ML and AI use cases.
• Build reusable data products using banking datasets.
• Support migration from Microsoft database environment to Amazon Redshift.
• Some resources should have strong Data Architecture or advanced Data Modelling capabilities.
