Job summary

Caliberly in Dubai is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the Statements System. You will own the PHP backend, handle data migrations, build REST APIs, and contribute to cloud deployment strategies.

You will lead the SQLite to PostgreSQL migration, integrate with a payments gateway, and work with DevOps to move infrastructure to AWS, while ensuring performance, stability and data integrity across the system.

Qualifications

• Experienced in PHP backend development.
• Experience migrating databases (SQLite to PostgreSQL).
• Skilled in building and exposing REST APIs to external services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and extend the PHP backend of the Statements System.
• Lead the migration from SQLite to PostgreSQL.
• Build and expose REST APIs to external services (e.g., payments gateway).
• Refactor legacy code to modern, testable structure.
• Collaborate with DevOps to migrate infrastructure to AWS.
• Ensure data consistency, system stability and performance.
