Job summary

Remotedxb is seeking a skilled Database Migration Engineer in Dubai to lead migrations for enterprise and cloud customers, owning PlanetScale-related work and developing repeatable migration tooling.

You will document processes, automate recurring requests, and act as a generalist across application and service migrations onto Private Cloud, contributing to a competitive database offering.

Qualifications

• Genuine strength across both MySQL and Postgres.
• Direct experience with database migrations in a customer-facing capacity.
• Ability to identify and package repeatable patterns (productisation instinct).
• Strong written and asynchronous communication skills.
• Comfort operating in a role with evolving scope.

• Execute database migrations with enterprise and Private Cloud customers using MySQL and Postgres
• Assume ownership of the PlanetScale relationship and migration work

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a database tooling or infrastructure company (e.g., PlanetScale, Percona, Vitess)
• Experience building tooling or automation for migration workflows
• Familiarity with AWS-based infrastructure or PaaS environments
• Experience with AWS DMS or comparable migration tooling
• Track record of writing, speaking, or teaching about database topics
• Familiarity with PHP applications
