Job summary

Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah seeks an AV Technician to install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot audio-visual systems across meetings and events, ensuring seamless support and guest experiences.

The role requires hands-on expertise with sound, projection, LED displays and conferencing gear, plus teamwork with Events, Banquets, Sales and Operations in a luxury hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as an AV Technician, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of AV equipment and event setup.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly.
• Familiarity with projectors, LED displays, and conferencing tech.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Job Description

AV Technician

As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio-visual systems and equipment throughout the property, ensuring seamless support for meetings, events, conferences, and guest experiences.

What You Will Be Doing

• Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment, including sound systems, microphones, projectors, LED screens, televisions, video conferencing systems, and related technologies.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of AV equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Set up and test AV systems for meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and other events according to operational requirements.
• Respond promptly to AV-related issues and provide effective technical support to guests and colleagues.
• Monitor and maintain audiovisual systems in guest areas, meeting rooms, banquet venues, restaurants, and public spaces.
• Coordinate with the Events, Banquets, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of all events.
• Ensure all AV equipment is properly stored, maintained, and accounted for.
• Inspect all AV installations and work areas for safety concerns and take immediate corrective action when necessary.
• Support all departments with their audiovisual requirements to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Adhere to hotel standards, health and safety regulations, and preventive maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous experience in a similar AV Technician role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting, and conferencing systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Familiarity with digital sound systems, projectors, LED displays, and video conferencing platforms.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple event setups in a fast-paced environment.
