Job summary

The Lana Dorchester Collection Dubai is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician to install, operate, troubleshoot and maintain AV systems for meetings and events. You will set up equipment, ensure reliability, and support guest experiences with high standards of service.

Qualifications

• Technical certificate in electronic/electrical/IT or related.
• 2+ years in facility management with at least 1 year in a five-star hotel luxury brand.
• Hands-on experience maintaining AV systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and troubleshoot AV, protection, lighting and conferencing equipment and systems.
• Oversee AV setup in banquet and meeting rooms.
• Ensure all AV gear is fully operational and maintained.
• Coordinate with engineering for smooth operation and safety.

What you’ll do

• You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests


• You will be responsible to set-up operate and troubleshoot all AV Protection Lighting conferencing equipment devices and systems


• Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms


• Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational


• Will carry out the repair and maintenance of all electronic systems and equipment such as TV systems


• In-House movie system


• In-House music system


• Intercom system

• AV projection etc


• Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem


• Follow AV equipment preventive maintenance checklist to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience


• You’ll also maintain engineering area clean and in an orderly manner


• Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation


• Report any serious maintenance problems unusual findings or safety hazards immediately to the manager

What you’ll bring

• You’ll bring your unique personality and passion to the role and the team.


• Technical Trade Course Certificate in Electronic/Electrical/Mechanics/IT or related.


• Vocational Certificate/Diploma or equivalent.


• Technical trainings in Electrical/Electronic/IT.


• At least 2 years experience in facility management with minimum 1 year in international 5-star Hotel luxury brand.


• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in a Guest rooms technician or similar role.


• You have a talent for Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on various AV systems and equipment.


• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in routine maintenance of AV systems and equipment.


• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures.


• Able to read Building electrical drawings and good understanding of maintenance inventory and install, repair and maintain electrical systems or electronic wiring fittings.


• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly.


• You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.


• English is the primary language used in our hotel.


• You can comfortably communicate in this language.
