Job summary

The Lana in Dubai, Dorchester Collection, is seeking an AV Technician to join the Engineering & Maintenance team. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV, lighting, and conferencing systems across events and guest spaces.

The role requires technical trade certifications and hands-on experience in luxury hotels, with a focus on maintenance, service quality, safety, and collaboration with other engineers. Competitive salary and development opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV/Protection/Lighting/ conferencing equipment.
• Oversee AV setup in banquet and meeting rooms; ensure full operation and perform repairs and maintenance.
• Follow preventive maintenance checklist to ensure high-quality guest experience.
• Maintain engineering area; coordinate with other engineering staff; report serious issues.

• Comply with SOP & LSOP; implement policies fairly and consistently.

What You’ll Do

• You will be responsible to set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV/Protection/Lighting/ conferencing equipment, devices, and systems.
• Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms. Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational. Will carry out the repair and maintenance of all electronic systems and equipment such as TV systems, In-House movie system, In-House music system, Intercom system, two-way radio system, AV, projection etc. Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Follow AV equipment preventive maintenance checklist to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
• You’ll also maintain engineering area, clean and in an orderly manner. Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation. Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager.

• Will be aware of all existing departmental job safety analysis and strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe working environment for self and for others.

What You’ll Bring

• You’ll bring your unique personality and passion to the role and the team. Technical Trade Course Certificate in Electronic/Electrical/Mechanics/IT or related. Vocational Certificate/Diploma or equivalent. Technical trainings in Electrical/Electronic/IT.
• At least 2 years’ experience in facility management with minimum 1 year in international 5-star Hotel luxury brand. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a Guest rooms technician or similar role.
• You have a talent for Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on various AV systems and equipment. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in routine maintenance of AV systems and equipment. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures.
• Able to read Building electrical drawings and good understanding of maintenance inventory and install, repair and maintain electrical systems or electronic wiring fittings.
• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
• English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.
