Job summary

SteerAI in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Sales Engineer to bridge customer requirements and our autonomy platform. You will own the technical side of deals from initial discussion through trials and deployment, collaborating with product, engineering, field operations, safety and government affairs.

This role requires 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles, solid understanding of ground autonomy, and the ability to communicate with senior military stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Physics or related field.
• 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (sales engineering, solutions architecture, field engineering, defence tech).
• Understanding of ground autonomy building blocks: perception, GNSS-denied localization, path planning, teleoperation, comms, remote supervision.
• Experience with defence procurement: tenders, trials, capability demos, acceptance testing.
• Comfort with data/tools: Excel, Python; ability to build analyses for technical scrutiny.
• Strong communication: able to engage both military and engineering audiences.
• Willingness to travel regionally; field presence required.
• Arabic language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer mission profiles into autonomy solutions and deployment concepts.
• Lead technical discovery with end users and integrators; derive solution architectures and deployment roadmaps.
• Own technical content of RFIs, RFPs, and tender responses; ensure compliance matrices and annexes.
• Plan and run field demonstrations, trials, and validation rounds; capture data and build evidence for next contract stage.
• Support integration of the autonomy stack onto partner/customer vehicle platforms with OEMs and integrators.
• Lead technical discussions with senior military and government stakeholders alongside commercial teams.
• Channel customer requirements back to Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap.
• Assist with pricing structures for software, sustenance, and related projects.
