Sharjah Education Academy is seeking an Audio-Visual (AV) Officer in the IT Department to design, manage and operate AV technology services across the Academy, ensuring reliable, accessible AV for classrooms, facilities, halls, events and campus locations. The role emphasizes customer service and collaboration with faculty, staff, students and external vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • AVIXA, ITIL Foundation, or similar professional certifications are an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Audio-Visual technologies and services, preferably within a higher education or similarly complex organizational environment.
  • Experience in designing, developing, implementing, and troubleshooting Audio-Visual solutions and infrastructure.
  • Practical experience providing AV support for classrooms, presentation facilities, events, and other large-scale environments.
  • Experience working with AV vendors and coordinating the integration of external AV equipment and devices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Audio-Visual technologies in classrooms, facilities, halls and other campus locations are up to date, monitored, maintained and supported in line with business requirements and service levels.
  • Provide professional AV technical support to all users across the Academy.
  • Provide AV support for all campus events, coordinating with external vendors for connection and use of their AV equipment.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance of AV systems, CCTV, public address and digital signage to keep them operational.
  • Provide technical support for post-production editing of audio and video programs.
  • Manage and maintain the Academy’s AV equipment and inventory.
  • Respond to and resolve AV incidents and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow up with staff and users to ensure incidents are resolved within agreed service levels.
  • Implement professional development programs for faculty in effective use of AV technologies.
  • Conduct user training sessions on presentation tools and technologies.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of technical manuals and documentation for AV technologies.
  • Participate in project-based initiatives supporting the Academy’s development as an e-education institution.
  • Promote the use of eLearning, collaboration and digital learning tools across the Academy.
  • Stay current with developments in AV technologies through professional development.

Job description

The Audio and Visual AV Officer within the IT Department is responsible for designing enabling managing and operating Audio-Visual technology services across the Academy The role provides comprehensive AV support to end users classrooms presentation facilities halls events and other campus locations ensuring that AV services are available reliable accessible and delivered in accordance with agreed performance levels and service requirements With a strong emphasis on customer service the AV Officer works closely with technical teams faculty staff students and external vendors to resolve AV issues in a timely manner The Officer also supports continuous improvement initiatives user training professional development and the effective adoption of emerging AV and eLearning technologies across the Academy

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that Audio-Visual technologies in classrooms presentation facilities halls and other campus locations are up to date monitored maintained and supported in line with business requirements and agreed service levels
  • Provide professional AV technical support to all users across the Academy
  • Provide AV support for all campus events including coordination and technical interfacing with external vendors for the connection and use of their AV equipment and devices
  • Undertake preventative maintenance of AV systems CCTV infrastructure public address systems and digital signage systems to ensure they remain operational and in good working order
  • Provide technical support for the post-production editing of audio and video programs
  • Manage and maintain the Academy s Audio-Visual equipment and inventory
  • Respond to and resolve AV incidents and service requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Follow up with technical staff and end users to ensure AV incidents and service requests are resolved effectively and within agreed service levels
  • Implement professional development programs for new and continuing faculty members in the effective use of AV technologies
  • Conduct professional development and user training sessions on presentation tools and technologies that support teaching and learning
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical manuals and documentation related to Audio-Visual technologies
  • Participate in project-based team initiatives supporting the Academy s development as an e-education institution
  • Promote the effective use of eLearning collaborative presentation and other digital learning tools across the Academy
  • Stay current with developments emerging technologies and best practices in the Audio-Visual field through professional development and continuous learning
  • These duties and responsibilities are subject to change and additional tasks may be assigned as required by the line manager or the Academy
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Ability to manage and maintain AV infrastructure, equipment, inventory, and associated technical documentation.
  • Ability to provide effective technical support for audio and video production and post-production activities.
  • Knowledge of presentation, collaboration, eLearning, digital signage, public address, and related AV technologies.
  • Ability to deliver effective user training and professional development sessions on AV and presentation technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal technical teams, faculty, staff, students, and external vendors.
