Job Overview The Associate Electrical Engineer applies established electrical engineering procedures to solve routine and standard engineering problems. Working with instruction and mentoring from experienced team members, the role develops practical capability in electrical design, calculations, engineering documentation, and project coordination. Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Become familiar with company procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and engineering standards applicable to assigned work.
• Seek guidance when clarification or technical direction is required.
• Perform detailed design engineering, analyses, and calculations for basic electrical engineering assignments.
• Complete routine engineering tasks under the close supervision and mentoring of an experienced engineer.
• Prepare clear and accurate design calculations, engineering analyses, reports, and procedures.
• Organize assigned work to meet deadlines established by project and discipline leadership.
• Communicate clearly, ask relevant questions, and confirm understanding of technical instructions.
• Develop an understanding of project scope, specifications, schedules, and interdisciplinary requirements.

Electrical Design Responsibilities

• Perform calculations for electrical power distribution systems.
• Prepare consumer lists using available equipment data.
• Carry out sizing calculations for electrical equipment and components.
• Populate electrical engineering databases such as SPEL.
• Prepare electrical one-line diagrams.
• Develop sketches of detailed designs to support Designers.
• Requisition and specify simple electrical bulk materials.
• Support technical bid evaluation activities where applicable.
• Assist with supplier document review requirements.
• Check electrical drawings for accuracy and consistency.
• Apply established electrical engineering techniques and analysis methods to routine design assignments.

Project and Discipline Coordination

• Work closely with engineers, Design Supervisors, and Designers within the electrical discipline.
• Support multidisciplinary project activities by understanding interfaces with other engineering functions.
• Develop knowledge of McDermott 's engineering and fabrication activities.
• Build awareness of the company 's business units and how they interact.
• Develop an understanding of McDermott 's customers and the services provided to them.

Qualifications

• Bachelor 's degree in Engineering or Master 's degree in Engineering.
• Registered Engineer in Training or membership in a professional engineering society is preferred.

Experience

• 0-3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Technical Knowledge and Development

• Developing knowledge of applicable engineering standards, codes, and guidelines.
• Developing knowledge of electrical design techniques and analysis methods.
• Understanding of basic power distribution engineering principles.
• Ability to perform basic electrical equipment and component sizing calculations.
