Job summary

Al Khayyat Investments (AKI) seeks a Transport Supervisor to coordinate daily dispatches, plan fleet routing, and supervise delivery operations to meet the company’s business plan. The role deputizes the Transport Senior Supervisor in their absence.

You will ensure inventory accuracy, QA compliance, timely collection of payments on delivery, and safe loading/offloading of goods. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will train and evaluate delivery staff to achieve high picking and delivery

Qualifications

• Graduate or high school with equivalent fleet management experience.
• 3 years supervisory experience in fleet management.
• Solid knowledge of Quality Assurance concepts and implementation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise the dispatches of products to meet the company’s business plan.
• Route planning and scheduling for outgoing trucks to maximize productivity.
• Plan and schedule routing to meet delivery lead-time targets and optimize fleet utilization.
• Coordinate with TM CBD team and customer staff to resolve delivery issues and expedite offloading.
• Verify stock accuracy and reconcile weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory records.
• Ensure delivery invoices are signed and collections are in line with terms.
• Ensure QA standards for loading/offloading and vehicle condition are met.
• Train and regularly appraise delivery staff to maintain picking and delivery accuracy.

Job description

To arrange and supervise the dispatches of products to achieve the company’s business plan.

To deputize the Transport Senior Supervisor in his absence.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Resource planning and utilization: Plan the daily effective use of resources, manage and handle floor and delivery operations to maximize productivity.
• Outgoing and Delivery trucks routing & scheduling: Plan daily Outgoing truck Loading to maximize staff productivity.
• Plan and schedule the routing effectively and efficiently in order to meet delivery lead-time target and maximize fleet utilization.
• Communicate with TM CBD team and customer receiving staff to streamline delivery issues and expedite truck / trailer offloading at customer premises
• Stock accuracy: Ensure quantity of goods loaded / received are as per order quantity to facilitate cycle counts are conducted and reconciled weekly to achieve inventory record accuracy.
• Delivery returns: Verify and confirm the quantity and quality of goods returned from trade as per documents to avoid customer complaints and stock variations
• Collection of payment / Invoice Delivery Confirmation:Ensure collection of cheques and cash at the time of delivery to adhere to payment terms mentioned on the invoice.
• Insure all invoices are returned to the warehouse on same day of delivery signed by the customer as proof of delivery.
• Outgoing product quality and SOP’s Ensure quality of goods offloaded and loaded is perfect and that the offloading / loading patterns will not create damages / trade returns.
• Ensure that incoming / outgoing trailers and trucks are inspected and they are in perfect condition in order to comply with QA standards.
• Ensure that delivery staff are regularly trained / qualified and their performance regularly reviewed to achieve desired picking / delivery accuracy.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

• Graduate in any relevant discipline or high school graduate with equivalent experience.
• 3 years supervisory experience in fleet management.
• Good knowledge in Quality Assurance elements and implementation
• Good communication skill and interpersonal skills
