Job summary

Kempinski Hotels in Dubai is seeking an Assistant Room Service Manager to lead a service team, delivering courteous, professional and efficient guest service in line with Kempinski standards. The role is designed to develop into the Room Service Manager position.

You will work with the Food & Beverage team to drive guest satisfaction and optimise revenue, while upholding the brand’s luxury service and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year in F&B management role, preferably with a 5* hotel chain.
• Ability to work independently, thrive under pressure and provide proactive solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with hotel staff and clients/vendors.
• Ability to identify and delegate tasks effectively.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to Room Service Manager.
• Lead the Room Service Supervisor, Order Taker, Waiter/Waitress.
• Report to duty punctually, wearing appropriate attire per hotel standards.
• Assist in leading the Room Service to optimise costs and drive revenue.
• Provide professional and courteous service and set department standards.
• Keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
• Act as Manager on duty in the absence of the Room Service Manager.
• Understand outlet concepts and assist in training as requested.
• Understand monthly profit and loss for the department.
• Conduct outlet meetings when the Room Service Manager is absent.
• Perform upselling and offer alternatives.
• Communicate within the outlet and attend daily/weekly meetings with the Culinary Team.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings and hotel-initiated trainings.
• Produce and review outlet reports for monthly performance meetings.
• Operate the POS system and upsell items as trained.
• Plan daily routines and station divisions per schedule.
• Assist in producing outlet-specific reports for monthly performance.
• Attend all required trainings and pre-shift briefings.
• Report incidents requiring disciplinary actions to the Room Service Manager.
• Coordinate updates to the outlet operations manual annually.
• Support supplier cooperation and scheduled inventories.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by Head of Department.
• Respond to changes dictated by hotel management.
