Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform field engineering tasks including constructability reviews and observations.

• Coordinate solutions and liaise with design engineering teams.
• Monitor schedules, progress, and provide reports to the Resident Engineer.
• Oversee material procurement, deliveries, and testing/documentation as required.
• Enforce safety practices and maintain daily project logs.
• Review contractor submissions and supervise site inspection staff.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer - Infrastructure/Stormwater to join our team! In this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project with respect to assigned works.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Performs well-defined field engineering assignments primarily involving constructability reviews and the observation of work in progress
• Maintains first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards
• Assists construction personnel with general technical details
• Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline; coordinates application of solutions
• Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff
• Monitors discipline construction schedules and assists in progress appraisal
• Provides schedule and progress appraisal data to the Resident Engineer
• Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline
• Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
• Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards
• Maintains a daily log for permanent record of project construction, as well as discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
• Review Contractor's submissions.
• Supervise site inspection staff
• Prepare progress report
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of overall experience in infrastructure/stormwater projects in Abu Dhabi..
• Proven track record in supervising all aspects of road and general infrastructure projects
• Proficient in computer applications for data access, record management, report generation, and relevant engineering/construction software.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken, with excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of engineering and construction processes, as well as industry standards and best practices.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Must have a good knowledge about contractual relationships.
• Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
• Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
• Keep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the utility works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary.
