Overview
Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical – a full‑time position in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, within the Civil Engineering industry. The role focuses on Electrical‑Electronics Engineering and requires a minimum of 10years of electrical infrastructure project experience.
Salary: 22,000‑32,000 AED per month (estimated).

Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Resident Engineer and supervise electrical infrastructure works, utilities activities, and associated road and bridge project elements.
- Act on behalf of the Resident Engineer during periods of leave or absence when required.
- Coordinate daily activities with engineers, inspectors, surveyors, contractors, subcontractors, and the construction supervision team.
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, technical submissions, correspondence, and utility‑related project documents.
- Prepare technical replies and review notes for the Resident Engineer’s review and approval.
- Coordinate with Parsons design engineers to resolve electrical infrastructure, utility interface, and site technical issues.
- Maintain daily diaries, review inspector reports, and ensure site records are accurate, complete, and properly organized.
- Coordinate with contractor engineers on work scheduling, resource planning, site priorities, and execution requirements.
- Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors assigned to electrical utilities and associated works.
- Convene and chair special meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other parties connected to electrical infrastructure activities.
- Support the implementation of project safety procedures and ensure safety goals are actively pursued across site operations.
- Participate positively in health and safety matters, site inspections, safety coordination, and corrective follow‑up as required by the Resident Engineer and project safety representatives.
- Prepare and assist in weekly and monthly progress reports covering site progress, quality matters, risks, delays, and work status.
- Provide on‑site direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions related to utility works and associated electrical infrastructure items.
- Check and measure completed works, record quantities, and support progress comparisons against the approved programme.
- Review material submissions, justify technical compliance, analyse laboratory and technical reports, and support acceptance sampling plans.
- Monitor testing, inspection, quality measures, and compliance with project specifications and approved procedures.
- Keep necessary records, support as‑built documentation, and ensure correctness and completeness of electrical as‑built drawings.
- Take part in utility handover activities and assist the contractor in obtaining final clearances from relevant service authorities.
- Use project‑specific engineering, construction, reporting, and document control systems to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10years of postgraduate experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience on roads, bridges, utilities, and large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 2years of proven experience managing supervision activities on large‑scale infrastructure projects within Abu Dhabi (mandatory).
- Must be currently available in the UAE.
- Sound knowledge of electrical infrastructure construction, utility coordination, site supervision procedures, and authority handover requirements.
- Ability to review shop drawings, method statements, design proposals, material submissions, technical reports, and project correspondence.
- Good understanding of contractual relationships and their impact on supervision, instructions, claims, payments, records, and project communication.
- Knowledge of quality assurance specifications, statistical quality control, testing procedures, acceptance sampling, and specification compliance.
- Fully computer literate with the ability to use engineering software, construction management tools, reporting systems, and standard office applications.
- Fluent English communication skills with strong written technical capability and confident oral communication.
- Organised and detail‑focused approach with the ability to maintain accurate site records, as‑built documentation, inspection reports, and handover files.
- Strong coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors, service authorities, design engineers, inspectors, surveyors, and project management teams.
- Safety‑focused mindset with the ability to support HSE procedures and promote safe work practices on active construction sites.
