Job summary

KN International Architects and Engineers LLC in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support infrastructure projects. You will work with the Resident Engineer to oversee site activities, ensure conformity with designs, specifications, quality, and safety standards, and coordinate with contractors and utility teams.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, experience in civil works and wet utilities, and strong coordination and inspection skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience in infrastructure construction supervision, civil works, wet utilities.
• Knowledge of water supply, sewerage, drainage, and irrigation systems.
• Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction method statements.
• Experience with UAE infrastructure projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and supervising daily construction activities related to civil works and wet utilities.
• Oversee the execution of underground utility networks, including stormwater drainage, sewerage, water supply, and irrigation systems.
• Monitor the installation of pipelines, valves, manholes, inspection chambers, and other utility structures.
• Ensure earthworks, excavation, backfilling, compaction, concrete works, and road reinstatement meet requirements.
• Examine contractor submissions, including drawings, material approvals, and quality control plans.
• Track site progress against schedules and flag delays or issues to the Resident Engineer.
• Liaise with contractors, site inspectors, surveyors, utility providers, and other teams on technical matters.
• Oversee testing and inspection of utility networks, including pressure tests, leakage tests, and CCTV surveys.
• Identify construction defects and deviations and coordinate rectification with the contractor.
• Review site interfaces between utility networks and roadworks for coordination.
• Maintain site records, prepare progress reports, and report ongoing issues.
• Provide technical and supervisory support to the Resident Engineer and participate in handover documentation.
