Job summary

The Lana, located in Dubai, seeks an Assistant Purchasing Manager to lead the purchasing function in synergy with the Dorchester Collection Procurement team. You will negotiate contracts for high-quality goods, manage supplier relationships, and ensure ethical procurement practices in a luxury hotel environment.

You will monitor inventories, support budget preparation, and work with other departments to meet equipment and product needs while staying updated on industry trends and regulatory

Qualifications

• Proven ability to multitask with strong time management in a luxury hotel setting.
• Strong analytical and negotiation capabilities for purchasing and supplier agreements.
• Knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes within a hotel environment.
• Excellent organizational skills, computer literacy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer service focus; English is the primary hotel language.
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience in Dubai's luxury hotel sector; UAE experience is a must.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the purchasing function in synergy with the Dorchester Collection Procurement team.
• Assist Purchasing Manager in negotiating contracts with competitive pricing for high quality goods and services.
• Maintain positive supplier relationships and monitor performance to ensure policy and quality compliance.
• Provide oversight of all purchases ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and ethical practices.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking and ensure stock availability.
• Assist in cost analysis and budget preparation; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain records of procurement activities and supplier performance; collaborate with other departments to meet needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting procurement.

What You’ll Do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

• As the Assistant Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of the purchasing function in synergy with the Dorchester Collection Procurement team, leveraging the groups platform.
• As Assistant Purchasing Manager, you will assist the Purchasing Manager in negotiating and establishing contracts with competitive pricing for the highest quality goods and services.
• Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers while monitor supplier performance ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.
• Provide oversight of all purchases in compliance with policies and procedures. You will enforce ethical practices in all dealings with company vendors; monitor subordinates and suppliers that pursue improper practices.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking.
• Assist in cost analysis and budget preparation
• Identity cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reductions strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance.
• You will collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting procurement.
