Summary

Summary: The Assistant Manager of Indirect Purchasing will support the company’s indirect procurement activities across categories such as Supply Chain, Marketing, Logistics, IT, and general services. Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Purchasing, this role focuses on executing procurement processes, supporting negotiations, and ensuring supplier performance. With strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration, the Assistant Manager will help drive cost optimization, compliance, and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Purchase & Procurement Support:

• Support the identification of indirect goods and services needs across the company.
• Assist in implementing purchasing strategies and ensuring timely execution of purchase requests.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.

Supplier Coordination:

• Support negotiations by preparing benchmarks, cost comparisons, and data analysis.
• Maintain day-to-day contact with suppliers and ensure smooth communication.
• Escalate supplier issues to the line manager and support in their resolution.

Analysis & Reporting

• Analyse, monitor and analyse procurement spend data to identify saving opportunities.
• Support the preparation of reports on supplier performance and procurement KPIs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of procurement activities.

Contract & Compliance:

• Assist in contract drafting and follow-up under the supervision of the Manager.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and legal/regulatory requirements.

Digital Tools and Process Optimization:

• Contribute to the implementation and use of procurement tools and ERP systems.
• Support data accuracy and process automation initiatives.

Sustainability and Responsible Purchasing:

• Apply sustainable procurement guidelines in daily activities.
• Support initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of indirect procurement.

Internal Collaboration:

• Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with their needs.
• Promote awareness of procurement procedures and compliance requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
• Promote and integrate sustainable procurement practices into the company's procurement policy.

• Contribute to cost savings initiatives through data analysis and supplier support.
• Provide reliable reporting and insights to management.
• Support sustainability and compliance in procurement processes.

Technical Skills:

• Good knowledge of procurement processes and supplier coordination.
• Basic negotiation skills, with the ability to support discussions and prepare relevant data/benchmarks.
• Strong analytical and Excel/ERP skills.
• Familiarity with indirect procurement categories (e.g., Marketing, PR, Logistics, IT, Office supplies).

Organizational Skills:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Economics, or related field.
