Job summary

Seau de Crabe Dubai is seeking an experienced Assistant Cook / Commis Chef to join our kitchen team in the UAE. The role supports daily food preparation, cooking, cleaning and maintaining high hygiene standards.

Applicants with UAE restaurant experience are strongly preferred. Visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate and the position requires flexibility for shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Cook, Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant in a UAE restaurant.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Understanding of HACCP, FIFO, food storage and temperature-control procedures.
• Basic cooking and food preparation skills.
• Experience in a busy restaurant kitchen.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion sizes and prep procedures accurately.
• Knowledge of safe handling of seafood, meat and other food products is an advantage.
• Able to work under pressure during busy service hours.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Responsible, clean, organized and punctual.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties.
• Willing to work flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• UAE restaurant experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with daily food preparation and cooking.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, vegetables, seafood and other menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Follow portion control, food quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
• Follow proper food storage, labeling and FIFO procedures.
• Monitor food temperatures and ensure safe handling of raw and cooked products.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Assist with receiving and organizing kitchen supplies.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Properly clean and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Follow instructions from the Head Chef and kitchen management.
• Help minimize food waste and maintain proper stock rotation.
