InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our Main Kitchen team. You will support our culinary leadership, ensure high food quality, and inspire creativity and consistency across dishes.

You will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and help manage menu development, costing, and waste reduction while upholding luxury dining standards.

Qualifications

• A diploma or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred.
• Previous experience as Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in luxury/hotels.
• Strong knowledge of international cuisine and kitchen operations.
• Experience managing kitchen sections and supervising colleagues.
• Good understanding of food costing, inventory, portion control, waste reduction.
• HACCP, food safety and hygiene knowledge.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Main Kitchen operations with the Sous Chef and leadership team.
• Supervise culinary colleagues to ensure quality, presentation and service standards.
• Ensure dishes are prepared per recipes, portions and luxury standards.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe development and food costing.
• Monitor stock, portion control and waste to maintain costs.
• Lead training and development of junior chefs and foster teamwork.
• Maintain HACCP compliance, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Coordinate with other culinary sections and F&B during busy periods.
• Assist with kitchen scheduling, briefings and operational planning.
