Job summary

PALAZZO VERSACE DUBAI is seeking a Commis 1 to join our luxury kitchen team. You will support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs, preparing mise en place for hot and cold sections and assisting in the preparation and cooking of diverse dishes.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a commis or similar role, hands-on experience in both kitchen sections, and a commitment to HACCP and high presentation standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in a commis or similar culinary role.
• Hands-on experience in hot and cold kitchen sections.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and mise en place.
• Familiarity with HACCP and food safety standards.
• Culinary qualification or diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support in daily kitchen operations alongside Chef de Partie and seniors.
• Prepare mise en place for hot and cold sections per daily requirements.
• Assist in cooking and preparation following recipes and standards.
• Ensure consistent quality, taste, portioning, and presentation.
• Follow HACCP, hygiene, sanitation and safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation and storage areas.
• Monitor food quality and report issues or shortages.
• Minimize food wastage and support cost control.
