Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a pastry chef in a professional kitchen.
• Knowledge of baking from doughs to custards, pies to pastries.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
• Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Strong sense of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide variety of pastries including cakes, cookies and other baked goods according to recipes
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and order supplies as required
• Ensure that all necessary food safety and hygiene standards are met
• Work with the head chef to develop new recipes
• Monitor the quality of all finished products before serving
• Supervise junior pastry chefs and train them in techniques used in pastry making
• Maintain a clean working environment in accordance with health regulations
• Decorate cakes for special orders or occasions as requested by customers.
