Role Context

The Architectural Inspector will help protect the quality and design integrity of building projects by checking that architectural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and accepted construction practices. Careful inspection at each stage allows deficiencies to be identified early and corrected before they affect subsequent finishes, handover quality, or project performance. The position combines field inspection, documentation, contractor coordination, and technical judgment. It requires a practical understanding of architectural construction and the confidence to communicate deficiencies clearly while working collaboratively with architects, engineers, project managers, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct systematic on-site inspections of architectural construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review completed and ongoing works against approved architectural drawings and technical requirements.
  • Verify compliance with UAE construction regulations, applicable building codes, and project specifications.
  • Inspect architectural finishes, materials, installation methods, and workmanship for quality and conformity.
  • Check dimensions, layouts, levels, alignments, interfaces, and visible finishes where required.
  • Identify construction defects, incomplete works, deviations, and non-compliant installations.
  • Record inspection observations accurately through site notes, photographs, measurements, and formal reports.
  • Maintain structured records of inspections, violations, outstanding items, and corrective actions.
  • Communicate identified deficiencies to project managers, contractors, consultants, and relevant technical teams.
  • Recommend appropriate corrective measures where work does not comply with approved requirements.
  • Follow up corrective actions and verify that remedial works have been completed satisfactorily.
  • Reinspect previously rejected or deficient architectural works before closure.
  • Review material quality and confirm that installed products correspond with approved project requirements.
  • Observe construction methods and highlight practices that could compromise architectural quality.
  • Coordinate with architects when site conditions require clarification of drawings or design intent.
  • Work with civil, structural, and MEP teams where architectural interfaces affect other disciplines.
  • Assist project teams in resolving site coordination issues without compromising design standards.
  • Photograph construction progress and areas requiring technical attention for project records.
  • Maintain accurate documentation suitable for quality reviews, audits, and project close-out.
  • Verify that architectural works remain consistent with approved technical plans during construction.
  • Monitor recurring quality issues and elevate significant concerns through established project procedures.
  • Support snagging and quality verification activities during later construction stages.
  • Ensure inspection activities are conducted in accordance with site safety requirements.
  • Observe relevant safety protocols while moving through active construction areas.
  • Maintain professional and factual communication regarding inspection outcomes.
  • Organize inspection activities around construction sequencing and project priorities.
  • Manage multiple site inspections while maintaining reliable records and timely reporting.
  • Support overall construction quality assurance by providing independent and consistent architectural inspection input.
Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in Architecture and have at least eight years of experience working on building construction projects. Previous employment as an Architectural Inspector, Building Inspector, Construction Inspector, or in a closely related site quality role is required. Candidates should have practical knowledge of architectural finishes, construction methods, materials, quality requirements, and site inspection procedures. Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, details, specifications, and technical plans is essential.
