Job summary

Marlin Selection Recruitment in Dubai is seeking an experienced Arabic-speaking Metals Originator to join its sales team. This front-office role combines new business development with relationship management across the Middle East and Indian markets, focusing on base/precious metals and established industry contacts.

You will originate relationships from onboarding through ongoing trading, collaborate with global market-making desks, and travel to target markets to expand the client franchise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in base and/or precious metals markets.
• Proven track record of originating and developing new business in the Middle East and/or Indian metals markets.
• Established network of industry contacts.
• Strong knowledge of LME base metals products and derivatives markets.
• Experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, order management systems and trade execution platforms.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients across the Middle East and India, using an established network, market research, conferences and targeted business development.
• Originate new business with reputable industrial, trading and institutional counterparties.
• Build and manage long-term client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day trading and market requirements.
• Coordinate client orders and trading requests with international market-making desks.
• Provide clients with relevant metals market intelligence, market updates and industry commentary.
• Support clients across trade execution, margin requirements, onboarding, KYC and ongoing account maintenance.
• Work closely with internal Credit, Compliance, Operations and Finance teams to ensure client requirements are handled efficiently.
• Partner with Credit and Compliance throughout the onboarding and approval of new counterparties.
• Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and increase revenues across the client portfolio.
• Represent the business at relevant industry events, conferences and client meetings.
• Travel throughout the Middle East, India and other relevant markets to develop new and existing relationships.
• Contribute to the continued expansion of the firm's metals business across the region.

Job description

We are working with an established international metals business seeking an experienced Arabic speaking Metals Originator / Business Developer to join its growing sales team in Dubai.

This is a front-office, client-facing position combining new business development with relationship management, with a particular focus on the Middle East and Indian markets. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of base and/or precious metals and an established network across industrial, trading and institutional clients

Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for originating new relationships, developing existing accounts and coordinating client trading activity with international market-making desks.

You will take ownership of client relationships from initial prospecting and onboarding through to ongoing trading activity and account development.

A key part of the mandate will be identifying high-quality prospective clients and converting those relationships into sustainable, revenue-generating business. Alongside origination, you will provide existing clients with a high level of day-to-day coverage across metals and derivatives markets.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an established metals professional who combines strong technical market knowledge with a genuine ability to originate business.

The successful candidate should have:

• Minimum 5 years' experience within base metals and/or precious metals markets.
• A demonstrable track record of originating and developing new business within the Middle East and/or Indian metals markets.
• An established network of relevant industry contacts.
• Strong knowledge of LME base metals products and derivatives markets.
• Understanding of client margin financing structures.
• Experience working with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, order management systems and trade execution platforms.
• Strong commercial instincts and the ability to identify viable revenue opportunities.
• Excellent communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced front-office environment.
• A highly organised, diligent and detail-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the region.
