Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking an Applied Media Lab Assistant to support faculty and students in the Applied Media program. The role involves maintaining laboratories and workshops, installing and troubleshooting equipment, and providing AV support for college events.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in broadcasting/media production, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and professional development in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma holders with 3+ years hands-on experience in broadcasting/media production or education facilities.
• Bachelor degree holders with 2 years similar experience.
• Experience with AV equipment installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated understanding of broadcasting networks and AV systems.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to integrate technology in workshop environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization.
• Willingness to engage in professional development and adapt to evolving needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate Applied Media labs and workshops.
• Install, demonstrate, maintain and troubleshoot technical equipment.
• Collaborate with lab instructor, faculty and students in the lab.
• Provide audiovisual support and oversee the AV control room at events.
• Ensure laboratory health and safety protocols are followed.
