Job summary

Mistral is seeking a Technical Lead, Applied AI to steer technical strategy, execution, and delivery of complex AI solutions for enterprise customers. You will lead Applied AI Engineers, ensure robust deployment, and guide customers from pre-sales to post-implementation while aligning with product and research teams.

You will bridge cutting-edge AI research with real-world applications, shaping the future of Mistral’s offerings, and mentoring a fast-paced, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master in AI, ML, CS or related field.
• 7/8+ years in AI/ML with 2+ years in technical leadership.
• Proven track record delivering complex AI projects from prototyping to production in multiple industries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver as IC; code, review, and optimize AI solutions.
• Lead Applied AI Engineers; mentor and set best practices.
• Lead pre-sales discussions; translate requirements into solutions.
• Design and oversee AI systems including fine-tuning, RAG, agentic workflows, and LLM apps.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new tools and methodologies; champion best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to incorporate customer feedback.
