Job summary

Mistral AI seeks a Technical Lead, Applied AI to steer technical strategy and delivery of complex AI solutions for enterprise customers. You will lead Applied AI Engineers and guide open‑source initiatives while aligning with product and research teams.

Responsibilities include hands‑on coding, design of AI systems, and mentoring teams to deploy state‑of‑the‑art GenAI applications at scale. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 7/8+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven track record leading teams to deliver complex AI projects from prototyping to production.
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, advanced RAG, agentic systems, and deploying NLP applications at scale.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver as an IC the critical lines of code of our complex projects.
• Lead technical teams of Applied AI Engineers, providing mentorship and best practices.
• Lead technical discussions during pre-sales, translating customer requirements into actionable solutions.
• Design and oversee the implementation of complex AI systems, including fine-tuning, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new tools and methodologies for AI deployment.
• Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to incorporate customer feedback into development.
