Job summary

talabat is seeking a Manager, Data Scientist - AI to lead a team of data scientists building ML and generative AI systems that power decisions across talabat’s product and business.

You will own the roadmap, mentor engineers, and partner with product and engineering to deliver scalable AI solutions, with a focus on LLMs and agentic workflows.

This role sits in the Applied AI Tribe, emphasizing measurable value and robust ML operations as we embed AI into everyday delivery platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data science, ML engineering, and/or generative AI, including shipping models to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of data scientists, setting high technical standards and supporting career growth.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into well-scoped ML/AI solutions with measurable success.
• Own the technical roadmap across data enrichment, automation, self-serve tooling, and agentic features.
• Oversee the full ML lifecycle: data pipelines, feature engineering, training, deployment, serving, and monitoring.
• Drive adoption of LLMs and generative AI for data enrichment and automated decision-making at scale.
• Design and analyze experiments (A/B and multivariate) to measure impact and guide iterations.
• Elevate MLOps practices, code quality, and tooling across the team.
• Partner with product managers and business teams to identify high-value AI opportunities and align the roadmap.
