Job summary

Omicron electronics GmbH is seeking a technically driven professional in Abu Dhabi to act as the MEA focal point for primary applications in power systems. You will collaborate with sales, product management, and regional teams to deliver application-focused solutions.

You will support transformers, GIS/AIS, switchgear, cables and substations through commissioning, testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, while traveling up to 50% and working in a diverse, international environment.

Qualifications

• Education in electrical engineering.
• Several years of testing of power systems and in primary applications.
• Customer- and business-oriented with proactive networking.
• Willing to travel up to 50%.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical contact for the MEA region and collaborate with Area Sales Managers, Application Engineers, Product Management, Marketing, and Regional Management.
• Support primary equipment applications for power system assets such as transformers, GIS/AIS, switchgear, cables, and substations.
• Assist in commissioning, testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities for primary equipment across the asset lifecycle.
• Provide technical expertise during strategic customer visits, supporting utilities, EPCs, and industrial customers with application-oriented solutions.
• Contribute to regional business development by identifying customer needs, application opportunities, and technical requirements.
• Monitor regional trends, standards, and competitive developments and actively bring in ideas for improvement.
• Participate in regional user meetings, workshops, and technical events, and contribute to presentations, application notes, and technical papers.

• You have completed your education in electrical engineering and have several years of experience in testing of power systems and in primary applications
• You are customer and business oriented and a proactive networker
• You are self-motivated and full of initiatives to convince colleagues even across distances and countries
• Communication and organizational skills are among your strengths
• You are flexible, and would enjoy traveling (up to 50 %)
• You have an excellent knowledge of English & Arabic. French, Turkish or other languages are a plus
