Job summary

IPS Intelligent Process Solutions GmbH seeks an Application Engineer to drive software projects in the energy sector. You will define scope, organize teams, and translate business needs into technical designs while delivering value in an agile environment.

You will collaborate with product development, provide customer support, and contribute to technical sales, demonstrations, and documentation. A degree in electrical engineering and 3+ years of domain experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
• More than three years of professional experience in energy industry domain is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, C#, and software configuration.
• Nice to know SQL queries, data modeling, Python programming and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and schedule; manage risks and deliverables.
• Create resource plan and project updates for stakeholders.
• Transform requirements into technical specifications; ensure cross-team coordination.
• Lead agile ceremonies: sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and standups.
• Support customers with testing, demonstrations, and sales presentations.

Your Responsibilities

• Define technical project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans
• Create the resource plan, project schedule and provide regular project updates both internally and to respective stakeholders
• Transform the business requirements into technical requirements documents (Requirements Engineering)
• Ensure cross-team coordination by assigning and monitoring the work of the project team, providing technical and analytical support and direction
• Planning and facilitation of the various agile meetings and artefacts, including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Primary contact point, managing stakeholder expectations for project deliverables and communications, maintaining maximum customer satisfaction
• Conduct project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project acceptance, handover documentation, and ongoing activities. This includes completing a post-implementation review to identify areas of improvement
• Work closely with the product development teams to deliver solutions in an agile environment
• Provide technical support and expertise to customers, testing applications, responding to customer feedback, maintenance, and performing sales presentations and demonstrations
• Providing support for the technical sales process, tendering and solutions based on customer requirements in cooperation with the development team
• Lead and collaborate with teams related to project management, software development, product management, marketing and sales
• Support and train end‑users, integration partners, other team members
• Support solution and product, configuration, implementation, testing and documentation

Your Energy

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
• More than three years of professional experience, ideally with domain knowledge in the energy industry (transmission and distribution systems are an asset), ideally in an operational technology capacity.
• Proven domain experience in key energy‑related and SW enabled operational customer processes, e.g. Asset Management & Maintenance, Network Planning & Modelling, Substation & Protection Engineering
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, programming skills in C#, and software configuration
• Nice to know SQL queries, data modeling, Python programming and data analytics
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical support to customers as well as to develop good relationships with them
• Proven experience in Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall project delivery and working with PM tools (MS Project, JIRA, etc.)
